Celebratory Prayer for Ukraine to take place on Independence Day

KYIV - On Monday, August 24, 2009, Ukraine's Independence Day, President Viktor Yushchenko will take part in a prayer for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people at the St. Sophia Cathedral. According to the presidential press service, religious leaders, other heads of state, and representatives of the government and Ukrainian community will take part in the event.
After the prayer, a military parade will march on Khreshtatyk. As part of the event, the president plans to address the Ukrainian people.
