LVIV - During her official visit to Lviv to participate in the economic forum, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko held a closed meeting with Archbishop Ihor (Vozniak) of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church on October 2, 2009.

The press secretary of the Lviv Archeparchy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), Fr. Pavlo Drozdiak, reported to obk.lviv.ua that one of the questions raised at the meeting was education, and in particular, questions regarding the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU).

Fr. Pavlo stressed that he does not know the details of the talk but expressed a supposition that the participants particularly talked about the bill to be adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers, which states that an institution which wishes to be called a "university" has to have a certain number of students. "According to such criteria, UCU will lose its status," stressed the press secretary of the Lviv Archeparchy of UGCC.

The priest also added that the participants of the meeting discussed the proposal to grant the church the status of a legal person and the question of restitution of church property.
