On February 11, 2010, the Supreme Council of Ukraine approved a project of legislation №4166, which considerably facilitates the procedure to enter Ukraine in one's own car which is registered with the organs of foreign countries. In support of the bill, migrants actively collected signatures through the migration portal NAVIGATOR (see here). For the collection of signatures dozens of volunteers from many countries of Europe joined. Over a period of two weeks, there were over 8 thousand visits to the pages of the portal from 25 countries of the world, which realized about 600 different visitors. Three hundred forty-three national deputies from all parliamentary factions voted for the bill; not a single vote was against.

It is already the third big victory in consolidated the position of migrants on important questions. The first touched double taxation of migrants (see here), the second - the necessity of the legislative securing of the legal status of Ukrainian labor migrants (see here). "Solidarity brings results. We perceive it as a sign of God's benediction on subsequent general actions," remarked Hryhoriy Seleschuk, the head of the Commission of the UGCC on matters of migrants.

From Tuesday, February 16, began a new action on the portal NAVIGATOR - the preparation of a joint position of migrants to the parliamentary hearings on the theme of labor migration, which are planned for this year (see here). "The action will consist in collecting suggestions of necessary changes to the Ukrainian legislation in the field of migration, each of which will separately be worked out by specialists. We want to come to the parliamentary hearings not simply with a list of problems, but with a package of prepared project documents. In fact, our goal is to have the necessary documents be accepted as soon as possible and for them to be in such wording that best represents the necessities," said Hryhoriy Seleschuk.
