Malaysia: church firebombing trial begins
08-07-2010
Three young Malaysian Muslims have gone on trial for firebombing a Protestant church in the Asian nation in January. The spate of anti-Christian violence-- which included the firebombing of eight churches and vandalism against two others-- followed a court decision that permitted a Catholic publication to use the word "Allah" to refer to God.
Father Lawrence Andrew, the publication's editor, told Vatican Radio that he believes the three youths did not act alone.
