On September 11 - 12, 2010, a pilgrimage of the Kyivan Archeparchy of the UGCC to the city Vyshhorod will take place. The pilgrimage will offer different Christian communities to meet in one of the oldest centers of Kyivan Christianity.

A world famous icon of Vyshhorod Mother of God once stayed in Vyshhorod. In 1155 Prince Andriy Boholiubskyi of Volodymyr and Suzdal transferred the icon from the Kyiv region to Volodymyr.

"Vyshhorod used to be known as a spiritual center. Pilgrimages to this holy place will not only strengthen the spiritual strength of the pilgrims, but will also help them be more conscious of their church's tradition," said the coordinator of the pilgrimage Fr. Vasyl Chudiyovych. In the pilgrimage will take part the faithful from the Kyivan Acheparchy, and members of youth organizations, the Mothers in Prayer organization, the Families of Nazareth Movement, and others.

The pilgrimage will have two routes:

• Pedestrian - from metro station Heroes of Dnipro to the church of Vyshhorod's Mother of God UGCC;
• Bicycle - from the city Irpin through Dzvonkova Krynytsya to Vyshhorod.

All who are interested in taking part in the pilgrimage as a participant or volunteer, we ask to please contact the organizational committee:
